“Fly Beirut” Initiative Announced to Offer Lower-Cost Travel Starting in 2027
During the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Middle East Airlines (MEA) in Beirut, Chairman Mohammad El-Hout announced a new travel initiative named “Fly Beirut”. The initiative aims to provide a more affordable travel option, while maintaining the same safety standards as MEA’s existing fleet.
During the ceremony, the President of the Republic awarded the Lebanese Order of Merit – Gold Grade to MEA in recognition of its role in sustaining Lebanon’s air connectivity over the years.
According to the official statements, the operational launch of “Fly Beirut” is expected in 2027, as part of a long-term development plan.

أعلن رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة طيران الشرق الأوسط، محمد الحوت، عن مبادرة جديدة تحت اسم “فلاي بيروت”، وذلك خلال الاحتفال بالذكرى الثمانين لتأسيس الشركة في بيروت. وتهدف المبادرة إلى تقديم خيار سفر بتكلفة أقل للمسافرين، مع التأكيد على أنّ مستوى السلامة سيكون مطابقًا لمعايير السلامة المعتمدة في أسطول MEA.
وخلال المناسبة، منح رئيس الجمهورية شركة طيران الشرق الأوسط وسام الاستحقاق اللبناني المذهّب تقديراً لدورها في دعم قطاع الطيران والمحافظة على ربط لبنان بالعالم خلال مختلف المراحل.
وبحسب المعلومات الصادرة، فإن التشغيل الرسمي لـ “فلاي بيروت” متوقع في عام 2027 كجزء من خطة طويلة المدى لتطوير خدمات النقل الجوي.
